SUMMARY:From Risk to Evidence: Cybersecurity Management and Forensic Readiness
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to a cybersecurity workshop “From Risk to Evidence: Cybersecurity Management & Forensic Readiness”\, organised in collaboration with the CHESS project.  \nThe workshop takes place in-person on 11 September 2026 from 09:00–11:00 at TalTech Mektory (Raja 15)\, Room MEK-114 (ScreenX Hall).   \nThis session is designed for managers and professionals with a (basic) technical background who want to strengthen their understanding of cybersecurity risk management and organisational readiness for incidents. The event will be held in English.  \nThe workshop builds on ITL’s 2026 cyber threat discussions\, focusing on how organisations can improve risk visibility\, preparedness\, and response capability.  \nWhat to expect?  \n\nhow to approach and communicate cybersecurity risk \n\n\npractical methods for identifying and managing risks \n\n\nintroduction to forensic readiness and its relation to cybersecurity risks \n\n\nhands-on group exercises based on realistic case scenarios\, where participants will identify organisational goals and relevant risks\, discover and map available evidence within systems \n\n\nAssess and improve organisation’s forensic readiness \n\nThis approach helps organisations respond more effectively to incidents\, compliance requirements\, legal processes\, disputes\, and gain insight into near misses — all while optimising the cost of evidence handling and response.  \nSpeakers & workshop facilitators  \n\nRaimundas Matulevičius\, Professor of Information Security\, University of Tartu \n\n\nLukáš Daubner\, Research Fellow in Information Security\, University of Tartu \n\nAgenda  \n\n09:00–09:15 Arrival and registration \n\n\n09:15–10:00 Welcome\, Introduction to risk management & forensics \n\n\n10:00–10:15 Break \n\n\n10:15–11:00 Hands-on session \n\nSince a limited number of spots are available\, please guarantee yours by registering before September 4th the latest here: ITL & CHESS workshop “From Risk to Evidence: Cybersecurity Management & Forensic Readiness” – Fill out form  \nWe look forward to welcoming you.

SUMMARY:CHESS Cryptography Day in Prague
DESCRIPTION:As part of the OpenSSL Conference\, the CHESS project (Cyber-security Excellence Hub in Estonia and South Moravia) will stage a short pre-conference event focused on practical and emerging topics in cryptography from Czech and Estonian researchers. \nThe programme will cover a range of topics relevant to the OpenSSL community\, including multi-party cryptographic protocols\, testing and validation of cryptographic implementations\, formal methods\, analyses of certified cryptographic products\, and privacy-enhancing technologies. While grounded in CHESS project results\, the session will also extend to broader cryptographic challenges and current developments. \nThe event aims to provide a space for discussion\, knowledge exchange\, and interaction between researchers\, developers\, and practitioners. It will be followed by an informal networking\, offering opportunities to connect with contributors across academia and industry and explore potential collaboration. \nMore detailed programme coming soon. \nWHEN: 12 October 2026\, 14:00–17:00 \nWHERE: Hotel Diplomat\, Prague 6 (Evropská 370/15\, Prague) \nParticipation in the CHESS event is free of charge. \n  \nREGISTRATION \nRegister here: https://openssl2026.sched.com/?promo_code=CHESS#ticket-picker \nIf you register via the OpenSSL website (https://openssl-conference.org/register)\, please enter the promo code CHESS. Otherwise\, the CHESS Cryptography Day ticket will not be visible in the registration form. \n  \nContact person: \nZuzana Vémolová \nvemolova(at)rect.muni.cz
