SUMMARY:CHESS Industrial Day 2023
DESCRIPTION:The aim of CHESS Industrial Day 2023 is to bring together researchers and practitioners in formal methods from industry and academia. The event provides an informal platform for exchanging practical experience with methods and tools for software analysis/verification/testing\, and discussing their benefits and bottlenecks. It is organized by the Cyber-security Excellence Hub in Estonia and South Moravia (CHESS). \nThe Program includes \n\ninvited presentations reporting the use/advantages/bottlenecks of formal methods in industrial practice;\ntool demos;\nopen panel discussion addressing (at least) the following questions:\n\nWhat are the main problems preventing the massive use of formal methods in software development?\nWhere are the current technologies and tools most useful? Where do they fail? Why?\nDo we provide our students with enough knowledge and skills to use formal methods in practice?\n\n\n\nThere will be enough space for informal communication. The participants are welcome to contact the organizers and propose additional items enriching the program. A detailed schedule will be announced later. \nContact: Antonín Kučera (FI MU)\, Jan Strejček (FI MU)\, Tomáš Vojnar (FIT VUT) \nPlease register before November 30\, 2023.

SUMMARY:Workshop on Process Theory for Security Protocols and Cryptography
DESCRIPTION:Subject of the Workshop \nMonoidal categories offer a powerful abstract framework for reasoning about processes. Computer security is a source of particularly complex processes\, often specified in an ad-hoc manner\, for example in security proofs concerning cryptographic proctocols. The purpose of this workshop is to explore the potential of categorical methods in modelling situations that arise in computer security and cryptography. \nConfirmed Participants \n\n\nMartti Karvonen (University College London)\nElena di Lavore (University of Pisa)\nTomáš Gonda (University of Innsbruck)\nMario Román (University of Oxford)\nFabio Zanasi (University College London)\nEigil Rischel (University of Strathclyde)\nChad Nester (Tallinn University of Technology)\nPaweł Sobociński (Tallinn Unviersity of Technology)\nNiels Voorneveld (Cybernetica AS)\nDenis Firsov (Tallinn University of Technology\, Matter Labs)\n\nTallinn\, Estonia. SUMMARY:International Workshop on Security and Privacy in Intelligent Infrastructures (SP2I)
DESCRIPTION:4th International Workshop on Security and Privacy in Intelligent Infrastructures (SP2I) to be held in the conjunction with the ARES workshops EU Projects Symposium 2024 at the 19th International Conference on Availability\, Reliability and Security. \nRecent years have seen the proliferation of Intelligent Infrastructures (IIs) in domains such as the Internet of Vehicles\, Industrial IoT\, Cyber Manufacturing\, e-Healthcare\, Smart City services\, Smart Grids and Smart Home applications. Intelligent Infrastructure services consist of layers that capture\, exchange and analyze data as well as invoke autonomic responses sometimes supported by emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems. The goal of Intelligent Infrastructures is a higher level of convenience for mankind\, but with those promises have come privacy and security issues and concerns. Therefore\, increasing security and privacy in Intelligent Infrastructures by designing new efficient solutions is an important research direction. Moreover\, quantum-resistant security and connecting privacy with the law are also important research topics nowadays. The SP2I 2024 workshop1 aims to collect the most relevant ongoing research efforts in the field of privacy and security in Intelligent Infrastructures. This workshop also welcomes submissions that deal with interdisciplinary research connecting privacy to law\, formal modeling\, policy\, and data privacy management. The SP2I also serves as a forum for relevant research projects to disseminate their privacy and security-related results and boost future cooperation. \nImportant Dates \n\n\n\nSubmission Deadline\nApril 29\, 2024\n\n\nAuthor Notification\nMay 27\, 2024\n\n\nProceedings Version\nJune 18\, 2024\n\n\nARES EU Symposium\nJuly 30\, 2024\n\n\nARES Conference\nJuly 30 – August 02\, 2024\n\n\n\n  \nPaper Submission Guidelines \nThe paper submission guidelines valid for the workshop are the same as for the ARES conference. SUMMARY:Workshop on Education\, Training and Awareness in Cybersecurity (ETACS)
DESCRIPTION:Workshop on Education\, Training and Awareness in Cybersecurity (ETACS) to be held in the conjunction with the ARES workshops EU Projects Symposium 2024 at the 19th International Conference on Availability\, Reliability and Security.\n\nThe current lack of cybersecurity experts on the world job market is a significant problem that can be solved only by coordinated and focused development of higher education and professional training programs. All topics related to cybersecurity education\, training and awareness will be considered for the Workshop on Education\, Training and Awareness in Cybersecurity (ETACS). ETACS seeks for novel submissions from academia\, government as well as industry contributing to cybersecurity education\, training and awareness. The focus is on practical research into higher-education cybersecurity curricula\, professional training\, building of cyber ranges and their coalitions across Europe\, methods to assess and raise awareness in cybersecurity\, the implementation of systems\, and lessons learned. Furthermore\, the EU-wide agreement on the identification of skills necessary for cybersecurity work roles is one of the main interests of the workshop. The event aims at putting together people form universities\, professional training institutions\, industry\, government and EU agencies to discuss current problems and solutions for cybersecurity education and training.\n\nImportant Dates\n\n\n\nSubmission Deadline\nMay 01\, 2024\n\n\nAuthor Notification\nMay 29\, 2024\n\n\nProceedings Version\nJune 18\, 2024\n\n\nARES EU Symposium\nJuly 30\, 2024\n\n\nARES Conference\nJuly 30 – August 02\, 2024\n\n\n\n \n\nPaper Submission Guidelines \n\nThe paper submission guidelines valid for the workshop are the same as for the ARES conference. SUMMARY:Seminar Empowering Innovation: The Strategic Value of IP
DESCRIPTION:The EU-13 Roadshow is a major initiative aimed at closing the innovation gap across Europe’s Widening regions. These events will unite key stakeholders from diverse sectors to establish an interactive Community of Practice\, facilitating for the exchange of knowledge and best practices in intellectual asset management and innovation support. \n\n\n\nThe roadshow events offer targeted training and networking opportunities\, tailored to the unique needs and priorities of local communities. By collaborating closely with these ecosystems\, the European IP Helpdesk ensures that the events address the most pertinent topics and provide tangible benefits to all participants.
