Abstract: The thesis analyses the design and security of the Noke HD smart lock. In the design analysis, we reverse-engineer the lock’s protocol because its documentation is not publicly available. We further analyse its design elements. In the security analysis, we assess the protocol’s security against common attacks on authentication protocols and other attacks on smart locks. The result of the thesis is a description of the padlock’s protocol and its security analysis.
